Reports are emerging that Microsoft has followed through on its promise to recall power cords for its Surface Pro laptop tablet hybrids.
The devices, running windows 8 or 10 predominantly, use magnetic locking chargers of which 56 have caught fire, sparking calls for a recall.
Microsoft has now begun the recall of around 2.25 million power cords, exchanging them for free replacements.
The lines effected are the Surface Pro 3 and earlier sold before 15th July 2015.
Microsoft have stated that the risk comes ‘if the cord is wound too tightly, twisted or pinched over an extended period of time’.
