Windows XP found alive running Russian Spacecraft simulator

Windows XP, the 15 year old Microsoft Windows operating system is still refusing to leave us, despite the OS support being ended in 2014. Nearly 2 years on from the support end, the OS has been spotted running a Russian Spacecraft simulator of the Soyuz rocket by a French astronaut by the name of Thomas Pesquet.

The simulator used by the Russians for training and testing was experiencing issues, beeping repeatedly, and during diagnostics Thomas found Windows XP running underneath and tweeted it on his twitter.

Although XP is getting on it’s still soothing to know that the OS isn’t quite gone yet, and persists on quietly into the night.
